Suparna J is a highly experienced software professional with over 20 years of experience in the information technology (IT) sector. She possesses the advantage of having worked with, built, and led multi-ethnic and multicultural teams across four continents viz. Asia, North America, Europe and Africa.
Consistently delivering measurable success, she won American global computer technology giant Oracle’s ‘Best Project Award’ for EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region twice – once for managing (IT) projects for Royal Bank of Scotland (UK) and the other time for Elsevier B.V. (Netherlands).
In an earlier core development role, she was instrumental in the legendary brand Ben & Jerry’s successful development & implementation of ‘Sales Budget System’ in 22 states of USA. The system led to a substantial increase in profit margins for the ice cream, frozen yogurt and sorbet giant.
Even as a fresh Masters in Computer Applications (MCA) postgraduate, she played a pivotal role in developing a ‘Fertilizers Trading System’ (replacing the earlier manual system) for a major government owned agriculture and allied agro products corporation – resulting in significant profits for the company.
That was an era when a large number of government organizations in India were yet to wake up to the potential and span of computer technology. So, a good bit of her early projects involved streamlining & computerization of key functions, towards significantly higher operational efficiency and financial growth.
Her extremely diverse work portfolio includes exceeding targets while creating and/or executing technology solutions for government and privately held companies that are engaged in science & research, textile, agriculture, dairy, utilities, publishing, manufacturing, service, production, trading and airlines – among others.
She took an open-ended sabbatical from Oracle a couple of years ago to be able to spend more time with her growing child.
And yet, she always kept herself involved with the IT sector by supporting, mostly in honorary capacity, start-ups and other small & micro organizations via addressing their technical and operations challenges.
Additionally, to expand her knowledge horizon further, she last year earned Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA) license for being a Life Advisor in India.
She now aims at utilizing her learning towards innovation, implementation, and simplification of solutions for seniors and the differently able – beginning with EveryCare.
Fluent in three and conversant with five other Indian languages, Suparna loves to write on social-political-cultural topics, and also movie and restaurant reviews.
She lives with her compact loving family in Bengaluru (previously Bangalore), India.
